Three things to watch out for before buying
1. Why LA 1000 makes more sense than the cheapest LA 500
The entry-level LA 500 plan is $5.88/month for 500 GB ($11.76/TB) and caps you at 5 devices. Paying $4 more for LA 1000 ($9.88/month, or $9.88/TB) doubles your data to 1 TB, bumps port speed from 2.5 Gbps to 5 Gbps, and removes the device limit altogether—so you never have to count how many phones, laptops, or tablets are connected at once.
2. “China Mobile ONLY” Hong Kong plans do not work on Telecom or Unicom
The three lower-priced Hong Kong plans are labeled HK China Mobile ONLY. They use CMI transit exclusively and do not route China Telecom or China Unicom traffic. If your connection is on Telecom or Unicom, you will need either Los Angeles/London or the Premium Hong Kong plans.
3. The 7-day refund limit is based on 10% data usage
New accounts can request a full refund within 7 days, provided total data usage stays under 10% of the monthly allowance. On LA 500, 10% is just 50 GB (around 7 GB per day), which is easy to exceed if you stream video or download large files. LA 1000 gives you 100 GB of headroom during your first week.
